Job description
Recovery Center of Maryland, LLC is a substance abuse provider that delivers treatment services to clients with chronic substance abuse issues. Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the SUD Business Development Specialist seeks to establish business-to-business relationships by networking with community providers and creating a referral network where clients are referred to our agency for substance abuse services.
Additionally, the SUD Business Development Specialist establishes direct relationships with clients in the community and assists them with self-referral into services. A typical day for a SUD Business Development Specialist would include going to shelters, transitional housing programs, probation and parole and assisting clients with signing up for our program. The ideal candidate must be outgoing, goal-oriented, works well under pressure and must be comfortable with the target population of drug users that are chronically homeless. Candidates in recovery are encouraged to apply.
The candidate selected must have their own reliable transportation and works well under minimal supervision.
Candidates will have:
Experience in business development/outside sales in the behavioral health or healthcare industry working for a hospital, healthcare organization, treatment center, or service provider to a behavioral health treatment provider
Versatility to cold call into new relationships, as well as maintain and cultivate existing relationships
Ability to establish relationships and be comfortable speaking with addiction/mental health treatment centers, and hospitals in a clinical sales process
Ability to market opportunities while developing, planning, implementing and following through with action plans to grow admissions and the overall brand of the treatment center
Ability to exercise professionalism in a manner that reflects a positive image for the organization, as well as the individual candidate, by exhibiting ethics, attention to detail, availability, dependability and a heart of service for those in need of recovery from addiction
Principal Responsibilities:
Work with leadership team and be coached on developing and implementing a strategic plan for creating new business relationships
Actively prospect, cold call (on the phone and face-to-face) continuously to expand individual's and company's contact list and brand awareness
Provide excellent follow-up with prospects and existing relationships
Qualifications/Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in outside sales/business development in the behavioral healthcare, healthcare industry, or as a service provider to behavioral healthcare/healthcare organizations
