POSITION SUMMARY: Come join a dynamic growing family oriented team! This candidate assists all Nursing staff alongside the Director of Nursing in all aspects of responsibility. You hold many key roles in the facility such as Infection Control, Active In-services throughout the year used to maintain the education of our staff on a regular basis, making wound rounds weekly, ect. Looking for a dynamic individual to build CNA program. The Staff Development Nurse/Coordinator will provide education, training, educational guidance and support to the facility. This position must function as a team member by working well with Human Resources, the DON, and Dept. Head staff. This candidate carries out facility initiatives in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations so as to promote the highest standards of quality and best practices in education and training. In addition, they will oversee Employee Health Requirement Coordination working in conjunction with the HR Coordinator, DON and RN responsibilities for infection control.

  • Provide general orientation, mandatory in-service, continuing education, and other training to meet all department and facility needs and regulatory requirements
  • Identify facility educational needs & plan, develop, and implement training
  • Reporting and documenting any allegations of abuse, neglect and misappropriation of funds
  • Provide EMR training
  • Communicate areas of concern weekly and PRN with Administrator/DON
  • Evaluate and monitor the transfer of training to the workplace
  • Perform competency skills to assess transfer of safety training to the workplace
  • Assess training outcomes and determine effects, such as improved staff retention
  • Assure quality in education by utilization of authoritative resources and best practices
  • Support associate relations to ensure practices that maintain high morale and staff retention
  • Assist, coach, redirect and document performance problems as needed
  • Assure that any performance documentation is equitable, uniform and timely
  • Maintain employee health records
  • Administer vaccines, PPD testing
  • Assures annual follow up with staff
  • Follow up on employee health issues
  • Maintain statistical data related to employee health

Requirements:

  • Must have previous experience in Long Term Care as well as managing/supervising staff
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices/procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to Long Term Care
  • Must possess a current RN license
  • Prior experience in management training, and a plus for education coordination experience
