Bethlehem Lutheran Church is Hiring a Kindergarten Teacher Near St. Louis, MO
Overview:
Bethlehem Lutheran Church (BLC) is looking to call a Kindergarten teacher to serve as part of our Team Ministry for Bethlehem Lutheran Childcare (BLC). The teacher will be responsible for all grade-level curriculum and is expected to work with our team as well as our CCLS Academy Team. The teacher is to ensure a well-rounded faith-based Christian education for our Kindergarten students.
The new teacher will serve an August through May contract. Salary will commiserate with years of experience/education level.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate the Christian faith into all facets of the school day
- Demonstrate mastery of subject material
- Develop lesson plans in accordance with state standards
- Maintain regular attendance and grade records
- Create positive moments with students and parents
- Know, rehearse, and execute school emergency procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly classroom
Experience:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Hold a valid state teaching certificate or in the process of attaining one
- Preferably be rostered by the LCMS, or working toward certification through the colloquy program
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Reflect and commit to Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s mission and vision
- Exemplify the Christian faith in both the classroom and personal life
- Be an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church or a sister LCMS congregation
- Resolve differences as Jesus teaches in Matthew 18
- Faithfully teach the Word of God
- Be active in life-long learning that promotes personal and professional growth
- Be accessible and responsive to parents
- Attend and contribute to faculty meetings, devotions, and staff development activities
