BETHESDA HEALTH AND HOUSING is Hiring a Director of Community Health Near Willmar, MN

Job Summary: The Director of Community Health is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating Club Bethesda and Community Health programs and initiatives. This position plays a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to promote health and well-being within Bethesda and the community. The Director will collaborate with various stakeholders to create strategies that address physical, mental, and emotional health, fostering a healthier and more productive environment.

Job Relationships:

  1. Reports to: Vice President of Senior Services
  1. Primary Interrelationships with: Wellness Assistants, Department Directors, Therapy, All other team members
     
  2. Supervisory responsibilities: Wellness Assistants, Support Group Staff

Hours of Work: Salaried position, typically business hours Monday-Friday with some flexibility.

Dress Code: Appropriate fitness attire and tennis shoes as appropriate.

Essential Requirements of Work: (Minimum qualifications necessary to function at full productivity.)

  1. Education and training: 
    1. Bachelor’s degree in public health, community health, or related field preferred
    2. AED/CPR (within 6 months)
    3. CPO certification (within 6 months)
  2. Experience:
    1. Experience working with senior services and programming specific to aging
    2. 3-5 years experience working in community health or related field

  1. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability for Full Performance: 
    1. Strong understanding of community health or a related field
    2. Ability to develop and implement health promotion and disease prevention programs
    3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  2. Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Personal:

    1. Understand the geriatric client and their communication needs.
    2. Desire to continue to learn and willingly participate in further decisions.

Physical Demands of the Job:

  1. Light duty work requiring extended periods of sitting and computer keyboarding. Lifting of materials and set-up required for internal and external events.
  2. Lift weights up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  3. Ability to instruct multiple classes a day.
