    JOB TITLE: Intro to Business & Marketing
    CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: V078000, V521401, or V520100
    DESCRIPTION:
    The Pierce County Skills Center is seeking teacher applicants to teach summer school classes at sites throughout Pierce County. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction based upon best available research and practices in teaching and learning.
    THIS POSITION WILL BE HIRED THROUGH THE PIERCE COUNTY SKILLS CENTER, NOT THE BETHEL SCHOOL DISTRICT.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Valid and appropriate certificate and endorsements for Washington State required.
    • Meet requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act.
    • Ability to implement program which will lead to industry certification of students.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective classroom management.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods.
    • Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS:
    • Previous successful teaching experience at grade level/subject area preferred.
    • Understanding of Common Core State Standards
    • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional strategies and methods appropriate for student learning needs.
    • Ability to integrate technology with the curriculum.
    • Problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to organize ideas, time and materials to accomplish goals.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and plan with other staff members.
    • Desire and willingness to continue to learn and pursue professional development.
    • Be enthusiastic, flexible and have a commitment for students to reach high learning standards.
    CLOSING DATE:
    For best consideration, all materials should be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. on May 3, 2024. (Open until filled)
    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Session 1: June 24-July 12
    • Must attend teacher orientation prior to the first day of class
    • Position is contingent upon adequate student enrollment
    SALARY: $5,500 per session
