Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Operations, to maintain school buildings and building and grounds in orderly, neat, safe and operable condition.
Small Engine Repair Maintenance Specialist: Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various small engines, encompassing lawnmowers, chainsaws, leaf blowers, generators, and snow removal equipment. Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical issues specific to winter snow removal machinery such as snow blowers and snow throwers.
Tasks include meticulous inspection and repair of engines, gear systems, and snow removal attachments. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues related to engine start-up, auger and impeller functionality, and drive systems. Capable of conducting preventive maintenance to ensure peak performance during the winter season.
Furthermore, adept in managing shop repair operations, including inventory management of winter-specific replacement parts and accessories. Strong organizational skills applied to scheduling routine maintenance for snow removal equipment to minimize downtime during peak winter weather.
Effective communication to assess snow removal needs, provide transparent explanations of repair requirements, and deliver timely service. A dedication to quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset are essential traits for success in this multifaceted role."
