HOUSEKEEPER JOB DESCRIPTION

Basic Function: The Housekeeper is responsible for the daily housekeeping duties necessary to maintain the superior cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned patient and physical plant area.

Responsible To: Environmental Services Supervisor. In the absence of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Housekeeper is responsible to the Administrator.

Qualifications: Must have the ability to read and write. Must be capable of taking and following instructions and of working steadily and efficiently and be neat in appearance.

Physical Requirements: On terms of an 8-hour workday, “Occasionally” equals 1% to 33%, “Frequently” equals 34% to 66%, and “Continuously” equals 67% to 100%.

Essential/Marginal Functions:

• To carry out and follow all facility policies and procedures in regards to the housekeeping dept.
• To report to work when scheduled.
• To wear proper uniform.
• To perform all housekeeping duties as assigned and instructed including but not limited to; sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and washing walls, windows, furniture and facility equipment, replenishing products and supplies, cleaning resident rooms shower areas, toilet areas, activity and common areas, facility offices and employee lounges.
• To follow infection control policies and procedures in performance of all duties.
• To report to the Maintenance Person and fire or safety hazards at once.
• To complete all on line in-services per facility policy.
• To maintain sound customer services.
• To maintain residents’ rights and follow HIPAA protocols.

Job Type: Part-time
