Description

South Carolina Baptist Ministry for the aging is seeking a diligent and experienced Part-Time Long Term Care Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in billing within the healthcare sector, specifically in long-term care facilities. This role requires expertise in utilizing Matrix Care software, along with a comprehensive understanding of billing procedures for Medicare, Managed Care, and Medicaid. The candidate should also possess adeptness in collections and must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. 

Requirements

  1. Billing Management:
    • Generate and submit accurate billing claims for services provided to patients within long-term care facilities.
    • Utilize Matrix Care software proficiently to input billing data and ensure compliance with billing standards.
  2. Medicare, Managed Care, and Medicaid Compliance:
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care, and Medicaid billing regulations and guidelines.
    • Ensure all billing practices adhere to regulatory requirements to prevent compliance issues.
  3. Collections:
    • Manage accounts receivable by actively pursuing outstanding balances and resolving billing discrepancies.
    • Implement effective collection strategies to optimize revenue flow and reduce delinquency.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of billing activities, payments, and collections.
    • Generate reports as necessary to track billing performance and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with internal departments, including clinical staff and administrative teams, to resolve billing-related inquiries and discrepancies.
    • Communicate effectively with insurance companies, government agencies, and patients regarding billing matters.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare billing, preferably within a long-term care setting.
  • Proficiency in the use of Matrix Care software for billing purposes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care, and Medicaid billing processes and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in collections and proven ability to effectively manage accounts receivable.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
