As the Post Resettlement Casework Support Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for assisting Post Resettlement Case Managers with the documentation, and other client needs with an emphasis on immigration needs.
This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist clients, as directed by the case manager, in addressing essential post resettlement needs to include but not limited to registering for English classes, establishing phone service, opening a bank account, applying for Social Security and a Michigan ID.
Assist with new intakes and assessments.
Provide transportation to doctor appointments and other appointments as requested by case manager.
Conduct training on crucial orientation topics including accessing resources.
Provide bus training for clients.
Refer clients to local providers to address client needs identified on the assessment
Address phone calls, and complete paperwork for case manager as requested.
Promptly share client concerns and areas for follow-up with case manager.
Case note all activities clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner.
At some sites may assist clients in applying for green cards.
At some sites may effectively communicate the resettlement process to US Ties and give them regular case updates.
At some sites may complete US Tie evaluations.
At some sites may process Affidavit of Relationship applications, as directed by the Resettlement Administrator.
Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services.
