Job SummaryThe Medical Records Clerk position provides administrative support to the clinical staff. This position will perform assigned duties in accordance with established procedures and as directed by your supervisor while working on the floor.
Duties IncludeMaintain accurate and timely medical records and charts for each patient and resident. File new medical orders, medical records, and other pertinent information, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the medical chart. Works with other departments such as Social Services, Dietary Services, etc. to ensure the best care is given to Bethany’s patients and residents
Schedule: Mondays to Fridays 8.30am to 5pm
Pay Rate: $20-23 per hour DOE

Qualifications
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and possess the ability to communicate effectively with clients/residents, families, physicians, peers, staff, supervisors and managers as well as staff in community organizations.
  • Must possess the ability to work alone and be able to set and accomplish care goals without direct supervision.
  • Ability to understand and address customer expectations and provide excellence in care and service consistent with the organization’s mission.
  • Working knowledge or self-initiative to become knowledgeable of applicable local, state, and federal laws and accreditation standards as applicable to the role.
  • Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing, in a way that is understood by clients/residents, family members and others related to the care team.
Experience/Skills
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a High School diploma or GED
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 45 wpm and have a working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must be knowledgeable in computer data input and output
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies
