The Information Technology (IT) Purchasing Specialist is primarily responsible for managing and optimizing Bethany’s technology procurement process. This includes identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, processing purchase orders, verifying delivered items, and maintaining accurate records.

This position is expected to function effectively with limited supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state licensing regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Purchase equipment including computers, monitors, accessories, cell phones, etc.
• Interact with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors.
• Monitor order status and communicate with staff on delays.
• Handle equipment arrival including contacting staff to arrange pickup.
• Maintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, and payments.
• Maintain accurate records in asset management system.
• Manage replacement cycle for company devices and ensure timely and cost-effective replacements.
• Analyze mobile device plans and usage to ensure cost-effective utilization.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of experience in IT purchasing or a related role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other productivity tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an organized, detailed, and cooperative manner.
• Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
• Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
• Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
• Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
• Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
