Description

Bethany Athletic Club's new childcare center Bkids, seeks Teaching Assistants and/or Co-Teachers to join the Bkids team! The successful candidate will be responsible for helping supervise, nurture, and care for children from ages 6 weeks-5 years old.

Schedule: M-Fri
Available Classrooms: Infant 6weeks-2 years, Toddler 2-3 years, and Pre-School 3-5 years

Shift: FT/PT

Main Responsibilities:

  • Nurtures and cares for children while under the supervision of a qualified teacher/director.
  • Provides a clean, safe and fun childcare environment.
  • Utilize the center’s software to add regular updates to families of the children.
  • Ensures safe playing conditions and follows established security procedures.
  • Develops and implements activities for the children on an ongoing basis.
  • Treats children if injured and completes incident reports as well as notifies parents, supervisors and club managers of any incidents
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, making phone calls, etc.
  • Maintains a clean work environment by performing janitorial duties as required or assigned including but not limited to body fluid cleanup, sanitizing areas and other light housekeeping

Qualifications:

  • Certified in CPR/First Aid
  • 15 years of age
  • Completion of Aid 1 training
  • Completion of 2 hours of training recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect. 

All team members must have the basic ability to use computer/smart phone applications for training and company system purposes. Employees must also be able to comprehend written documents such as work orders, safety rules, instructions, policies, and procedures. Also required is the ability of employees to speak and communicate effectively with clients, coworkers and management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Be directly supervised within sight and sound of a staff person who meets the qualifications of a teacher.
  • Have at least 240 documented hours of experience as an Aide 1
    • 80 hours of the required 240 hours must be completed in the center where they are currently employed. Up to 160 of the hours may occur at another certified childcare center.
  • If working in a classroom with toddler or older age children, experience can be with any age group.
  • If working in an infant room have 240 hours working with infants or complete 50 hours of training specific to infants and toddler care prior to having an unsupervised access or Completed 25 hours of training specific to infant and toddler care and 120 hours of experience working with infants.
