Day (United States of America)Under the general supervision of the System Director, the Credentials is responsible for performing all duties related to the credentialing and privileging processes for medical staff and advanced practitioners.Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Coordinates the credentialing and privileging processes for initial and re-credentialing and privileging for medical staff and advanced practitioners.
2. Verifies eligibility, education, training, board certifications, work history references, licensure and certifications, malpractice coverage and privileges being requested, in accordance with NCQA and TJC standards and requirements.
3. Manages expirables as appropriate.
4. Enters all data in the appropriate databases assuring accuracy and completeness.
5. Organizes and maintains paper and electronic files as required.
6. Assembles and presents files for presentation to the Credentials Committees for recommendation and approval of appointments and privileges.
7. Maintains a working knowledge or TJC and NCQA standards as well as of the Medical Staff Bylaws and applicable hospital policies to ensure compliance.
8. Exemplifies a culture of excellence and customer service in all processes with all internal and external customers and all external representation of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of an Associate degree in healthcare or related field.
Licensure, Certification & Registration:
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional in Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) strongly preferred or willingness to achieve said certifications within 2 years.
Experience:
One - two years working in a medical staff office required.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Knowledge of ECHO (Heathline Systems) credentialing software and associated applications strongly preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work under minimal supervision and to adapt quickly to changes within the environment.
