BASIC PURPOSE:Develop, implement and manage emergency programs, programs for operations and maintenance of all equipment and physical structures, landscaping, local, state and federal codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and employees, ensure optimum operations, minimizes expenses and maximize customer satisfaction.
Also Required to drive shuttle van as needed
GENERAL SCOPE: Position is responsible for the short and long term planning and hands on day-to-day operations of the engineering department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSEDUCATION:More than 2 years of post-High School education but less than a 4-year degree from a four-year college.
EXPERIENCE:Four to five years of employment in a related position.
SKILLS AND ABILIITIES:Requires advanced knowledge of building materials, management and engineering. May require considerable working knowledge or other major areas in the hotel and the skills to integrate and communicate that information. Requires analyzing activities and or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions. Requires management skills. Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management and guests.
HOURS: VariableDays and times may vary based upon need. Typically, 40 hours per week and the need to be on call.
LIFTING/PUSHING/PULLING/CARRYING:Lifting up to 50 points, pushing up to 200 pounds.
BENDING OR KNEELING:Varies depending on the project being worked upon.
MOBILITY:Walking, climbing, use of stairs, ladders, lifts, etc. on all floors of the hotel, at varying heights and distances.
CONTINUOUS STANDING:When waiting for guests, loading, unloading or other duties, etc. May be
inside or outside, in difficult weather or variable heating and cooling conditions (summer vs winter, steam room/equipment room vs. Roof, in walk in freezers or pump / boiler rooms, etc.).
DRIVING:As needed on site or to procure supplies, equipment, etc. generally within 20 miles of the hotel.
HEARING:Critical. Use of tools, alarms and other audible conditions.
VISION:Critical. Visually check the premises, equipment, rooms, etc.
SPEECH:Critical. One-on-One conversation and communication with guests and staff.
LITERACY:Critical. Ability to read and comprehend work orders, diagrams, labels, etc.
CHEMICALS:Water treatments, pool chemicals, cleaning, degreasers, coil cleaners, paint thinners, gasoline, oil, etc.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION:Ability to operate a range of equipment form tools, devices, pumps, vacuums, saws, etc.
