We are looking for a skilled Maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. Weekends and some holidays are required! You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.

Responsibilities

• Perform fixes such as repairing broken locks, repairing drywall, identifying and correcting basic plumbing and electrical issues, etc.
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
• Install appliances and equipment
• Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, pulling weeds, collecting trash etc.
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
• Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
• Assist with setting up the Conference Center for events. These setups can occasionally occur at midnight if we have two back-to-back events, although those are rare.
• Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
• Must have availability to be on-call for a week at a time, on a rotating schedule (usually every 3-4 weeks).
• Maintain good communication with your Supervisor.
• Have reliable transportation to and from work, as well as the ability to run occasional errands to the hardware store, dump, etc.
• Skills
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
• Experience using hand and electrical tools
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical stamina and dexterity
• Availability to be on-call on a rotating schedule
• Weekend and Holiday availability is a MUST
• Superior attendance is a MUST
• Ability to drive to and from hardware store, dump, other locations while on-duty
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
