JOB DESCRIPTION
The Housekeeper is responsible for taking care of the hotel’s general cleanliness to provide tidy and sanitary amenities for guests. Their duties include cleaning floors, making beds, dusting surfaces, etc., throughout the building.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· Clean and tidy all areas to the standard of cleanliness within time limits.
· Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, respond to their requests and inquiries, and inform others of requests when required.
· Create daily job lists and record all serviced rooms.
· Maintain equipment in good condition.
· Report on any shortages, damages, or security issues
· Follow hotel procedures for handling lost and found items and report any valuable findings.
· Check stocking levels of all consumables.
· Assist guests with luggage, directions, and other requests as needed.
· Communicate effectively with the front desk, maintenance, and other hotel staff to provide excellent service.
· Comply with health and safety regulations, and act in line with company policies and licensing laws.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or GED
· Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred but not required.
· Proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and usage of equipment
· The ability to effectively communicate verbally.
· Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests.
· Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· This is a physically demanding position. You must be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, squatting, stretching, and pushing for extended periods of time.
· Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
· Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
· This position will require little to no travel outside the property and surrounding areas.
