Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide patient care and assist in the implementation of treatment plans. Your role will be crucial in helping patients regain mobility, manage pain, and improve their overall quality of life.
Duties:
- Assist in the evaluation and assessment of patients' conditions and needs
- Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide hands-on therapy to patients, including exercises, stretches, and manual therapy techniques
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for at-home exercises and self-care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient treatments and progress
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Stay current on the latest research and advancements in physical therapy techniques
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in providing patient care and implementing treatment plans
- Ability to perform trigger point therapy and other manual therapy techniques
- Experience in acute care settings, such as hospitals or rehabilitation centers
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address patients' unique needs and challenges
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
