Best Friends Pet Care INC is Hiring an Animal Care Technician Near Carmichael, CA
Our well established, busy, fun pet hotel wants to hire additional staff to join our team. We are currently seeking bright, energetic, individuals who work hard, pay close attention to detail and have a love of pets. Our Pet Hotel in San Juan currently has a full-time Animal Care Technician role available.
Best Friends Pet Care is the leader in pet boarding, grooming and daycare. We currently operate 40 locations nationwide.
This position ensures our guests have happy and healthy stays. Varied and engaging tasks include feeding, dispensing medications, exercising and record keeping. Lots of on-your-feet exercise - walking pets, throwing balls, and scratching ears. Candidates must be able to lift 40 lbs., be on your feet 4-5 hours at a time, and have the flexibility to work weekends and/or holidays.
General kennel experience is preferred.
An overnight position is also available from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and maintenance of pet suites, condos, general boarding areas, and kitchen
- Feeding and watering pet guests
- Monitoring and charting every pet guest
- Monitoring pet belonging
- Monitoring for any abnormalities
- Laundering duties
- Treating guests, co-workers and customers in a professional, courteous manner
- Work in a fast paced environment
- Assisting other associates and performing other duties as needed
Requirements:
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to manage time well
- Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must possess a love of animals and patience when handling pets
- Displays a professional manner at all times
