GENERAL DESCRIPTION

We're on the hunt for a tech-savvy visionary to lead our Information Technology department into the future! As the guardian of our IT landscape, you'll be responsible for the digital heartbeat of our organization. Your mission: to ensure the seamless operation of our ERP system, deliver top-notch systems administration, and provide unparalleled support across a spectrum of domains, from helpdesk and desktop assistance to telecom support, web presence, and data center management. But that's not all – you'll also dive into software applications, fortify information security, nurture vendor relationships, and champion technology compliance. Plus, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, shaping our technology roadmap and discovering the perfect tech solutions to propel us toward our strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Crafting and executing our technology strategy with an eye on our goals and objectives.
  • Infusing a sense of innovation into our tech ecosystem by keeping your finger on the pulse of emerging technologies and their potential for our organization.
  • Joining forces with the IT elite in areas like infrastructure, ERP implementation, application development, networks, vendor partnerships, outsourcing, and IT operations.
  • Creating, communicating, and enforcing policies and procedures to keep our network robust, our IT assets secure, and our information private.
  • Building and maintaining a business recovery plan, ensuring we can bounce back swiftly from any IT hiccups.
  • Collaborating on budgets to keep our information systems shipshape.
  • Wielding IT as a secret weapon to drive cost savings and efficiency across the organization.
  • Setting up and managing security cameras, handheld devices, RFID security systems, and WiFi networks.
  • Architecting data backup and redundancy systems to achieve near-perfect uptime.
  • Unleashing your inner tech wizard with MS SQL Server and MS Access programming.
  • Upholding department SOPs and navigating the maze of cGMP regulations.
  • Staying in step with Company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

As a tech visionary and a people leader, you'll also embark on a parallel adventure of supervision, ensuring that safety laws, regulations, and employment laws are followed to the letter. Your superpowers include:

  • Supporting and enforcing Company policies, procedures, and work rules.
  • Being the guiding light in the hiring process, ensuring fairness and compliance with laws and guidelines.
  • Nurturing the talents of your team through coaching, guidance, and training, aligning them with our high standards.
  • Giving new recruits a crash course in safety rules and machinery protocols, ensuring that our safety policies are etched in their minds.
  • Navigating the challenges of counseling and discipline to ensure a harmonious work environment.
  • Setting a shining example of leadership, fostering open communication, team spirit, and high employee morale.
  • Completing performance evaluations for your department's heroes.
  • Playing a pivotal role in employee suspension and termination discussions.
  • Fulfilling other supervisory and managerial duties as requested by senior management.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below reflect the knowledge, skills, education, and abilities required for the job:

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Servers, Cisco Network Hardware, Network Security & Troubleshooting, and Maintaining Maximum Network uptime.
  • A minimum of 10 years of Network experience, including infrastructure planning and operations.
  • Previous experience in ERP implementation and support is a must.
  • Previous experience in an FDA-regulated nutraceutical or pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
  • Leadership experience in recommending, implementing, and maintaining state-of-the-art network hardware and software systems.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and techniques.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency with a 10-key calculator.
  • Effective planning and organizing skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and duties.
  • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of general office skills and administrative procedures, including typing (minimum 45-50 wpm), filing, copying, faxing, editing, and developing memos, letters, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional, cooperative demeanor, conduct, and working relationship with peers, management, employees, and other individuals interacting with this position.
  • Ability to comply, interpret, and support Company policies, procedures, work rules, and protocols.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and new job duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a positive and professional manner at all times.

SELECTION GUIDELINES

The required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position can be acquired through a combination of education, work experience, and training, as follows:

  • A College Degree or applicable Computer Science, Information Systems training from an accredited college/university.
  • Ten (10) or more years of work experience in a similar, fast-paced work environment; or
  • Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the necessary level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities during the course of work:

  • Communicates orally with management, employees, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, governmental compliance agencies, and the general public by telephone or in person, in one-on-one or group settings.
  • Regularly uses a telephone, computer (e-mail) and fax for communication.
  • Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during the course of work shift.
  • Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, reach, pull, push, and tilt object in the performance of job function.
  • Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
  • Requires agility to operate multiple telephone lines with the use of hands and head-set.
  • Lifting limitations for this position: 25-30 lbs. May have to manipulate heavier containers.
  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.
  • Requires incumbent to sit and operate computer for extended periods of time during course of work day, and the ability to proficiently use the computer key-board for typing.
  • Noise levels for most work environments can range from low to moderate. Some work areas require hearing protection for an 8-hour workday.
  • Periods of odoriferous environment.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Personal Protective Equipment provided as necessary.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to chemicals, solutions, detergents, or solvents that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shell Fish, Milk, Egg, Tree nuts, and Sesame.
