Best Equipment Company is Hiring an Internal Product Trainer Near Indianapolis, IN

Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated Internal Product Trainer to provide product training to new hires, ongoing education to active employees, and to lead our Best Internal Technical Training Program (ITT Program). As an Internal Product Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the skills and expertise of Service Technicians, ensuring they provide the highest level of service to our valued customers. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and will work closely with the Senior Customer Trainer.

Responsibilities: 

  • New Hire Product Training: Provide comprehensive product training for all new hires and active employees as needed. May be an overview of equipment, operations of equipment, technical training, or other.
  • Lead Best ITT Program:
    • Training Program Development: Collaborate with management to design and continually refine the curriculum for the Best ITT Program. Ensure that the program aligns with the company's goals and industry standards.
    • Schedule and Communication: Plan and communicate training schedules with new Service Technicians and their Service Managers.
    • Mentorship: Create a welcoming and supportive environment for new hires in the Best ITT Program. Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to help them excel in their roles.
    • Competency Assessments: Develop completion tests or other methods to measure the competency of Service Technicians upon program completion.
  • Active Employee Ongoing Product Training: Work closely with the Marketing Department to create resources to share with Staff to ensure continuous education with our brands and technical information.
  • OEM Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with OEMs to acquire technical information and updates related to existing products. Stay informed about the latest advancements and share this knowledge with the team.
  • Safety: Prioritize safety in all training, meetings, and reviews. Instill a strong culture of safety awareness among all positions at Best Equipment. Initiate and lead health and safety trainings for Best staff.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain training records for all trainees and ensure they are properly filed and organized.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to branches, customer sites and career fairs as needed for the position, with an estimated 1-2 weeks per month to support on-site training and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in technical training and mentoring roles, preferably in the field of specialized equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Skilled in creating and maintaining technical training materials for technicians and parts associates, encompassing current products and new models, including multimedia and hands-on resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to maintaining a culture of safety.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage training schedules and records.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and enhance training curricula.
  • Passion for developing the skills and expertise of new Service Technicians.
