Position Summary
The Production Supervisor leads the daily manufacturing activities and coordinating resources required to accomplish daily production requirements. The Production Supervisor will ensure production targets are being met in a safe and quality manner in accordance with Colorcon’s values.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Reviews daily work schedule and prioritizes required tasks and assigns manpower accordingly to accomplish workload.
• Leads by example by consistently following established safety, quality and production procedures, guidelines, work instructions, and process flows. Challenges and modifies unclear or inefficient procedures.
• Notifies Production Manager of all incidents, including accidents, injuries, rejected batches, etc. as soon as reasonably possible. Investigates incidents and forwards written report to Production Manager. Includes recommended corrective action to prevent incident from recurring.
• Demonstrate accountability and leadership skills of establishing trust, motivating teams, providing all staff with timely and clear performance feedback.
• Fully understand and follow all 6 of the Colorcon Values.
• Responsible for ensuring production targets/key performance indicators (KPI’s) are met.
• Participates in periodic safety and/or quality audits. Communicates audit results with department associates. Develops and implements corrective actions list.
• Maintains a high level of good housekeeping within the plant at all times. Ensures associates maintain a clean and organized work area as tasks are complete. Ensures all daily cleaning activities are complete by the end of the shift and that waste is properly labeled, segregated, and discarded.
• Coordinates the training process of all new associates by setting up training schedule, overseeing tools, machinery training curriculum and observation of competency in accordance with defined procedure, equipment, and safety checklists. Ensures all training documents are complete and accurate. Prohibits new employees from working unsupervised until proven to be competent in the specific task.
• Coordinate’s assimilation process for new associates.
• Schedules and approves overtime hours on designated shift as required.
• Provides feedback, coaching and support to shift personnel and corrects off-task or below-par performance activity through verbal and, if required, written correction. Reports patterned performance concerns to Production Manager as appropriate.
• Maintains and audits daily production logs by the end of each shift to ensure they are complete and accurate.
• Maintains an accurate inventory of raw materials required for operation of department. Participates in the hiring process.
• Interview potential candidates and provide input to Production Manager on candidate assessment and hiring decisions.
• Review and approve associates' timecards.
• Review and approve associates PTO to meet shift workforce numbers.
• Communicates hand-delivers and posts all public announcements, training and meeting dates, organization metric updates etc. to department associates.
