Job Title: Registered Nurse, Operating Room RNJob Summary:The Operating Room RN, also known as a perioperative nurse, is responsible for providing care for patients before, during, and after surgery. They work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care in the operating room.Responsibilities and Duties:1. Assessing and monitoring patients before, during, and after surgery2. Collaborating with the surgical team to create and implement care plans3. Administering medications and anesthesia as needed4. Assisting surgeons during procedures5. Monitoring and maintaining sterile surgical environments6. Educating patients and families about post-operative care7. Documenting patient care and progress8. Providing emotional support to patients and familiesQualifications and Skills:1. Current RN license in the state of practice2. BSN preferred3. Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment6. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills7. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient transfer8.
