We are searching for General Construction Foremen who are capable of being on-site managers at our projects. He or she will lead two to four tradespeople, skilled laborers, and subcontractors. General trade experience is required. This is a working foreman position. Company truck provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Ensures that all materials, equipment, and tools necessary for jobs are available at the job site.
• Identifies when change orders are required for additional project work and successfully executes such change orders.
• Ensures that all repair and maintenance is performed routinely on all vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Ensures the proper training of reporting personnel in their duties and is conscious of any safety issues on the job site.
• Ability to understand and use basic computer programs including email.
• Enforce OSHA guidelines and compliance.
• Complete incident analysis reports.
• Ensures that good housekeeping is practiced on all job sites and in all company vehicles.
• Conducts job safety reviews at job sites, follows up on violations and maintains first aid kits.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ability to read and communicate blueprint details.
• Some subcontractor scheduling and coordination.
• Troubleshooting project challenges.
• Communicate with the Project Manager regarding equipment, material, subcontractors, and inspections.
• Understand and appreciate job costs and staying within budget. Track job hours, equipment, materials, and subcontractors. Note any delays on the daily job log.
• Take weekly pictures for job documentation.
• Report any value engineering that may improve job efficiency.
• Able to operate a laser and complete transit and layout projects.
• Job planning and general takeoffs.
• Issue warnings to crew members as needed for tardiness, poor attendance, willful defiance, etc.
• Complete employee evaluations.
• Conduct Weekly Toolbox talks.
• Experience in operating excavation equipment such as mini-excavators and skid loaders.
• Ability to acquire and maintain DOT physical for company vehicle use.
• Concrete finishing and carpentry skills are a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Pennsylvania Drivers License and own transportation.
• High School Graduate or GED, and a minimum of three years experience.
• Fluent English
• High school level – basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic problem-solving skills are necessary to bring a job to completion.
• Able to stand, sit, walk, lift up to 80lbs, push up to 200lbs, pull up to 20lbs, climb up to 5' and bend over frequently
• Good people skills. Get along well with co-workers and be able to cultivate client relationships.
• The employee will provide concrete tools including a trowel, mag float, margin trowel, boots, claw hammer, tape measure, and small sledgehammer.
• Bertolet Construction LLC will provide safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, knee pads, hard hats, and all power tools, shovels, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
