BerryDunn is seeking a Staff Consultant to join our Local Government Practice Group. The Local Government Practice Group focuses on serving the organizational, information technology, and management needs of local and state government agencies. We have worked with more than 400 government agencies throughout the United States. We understand the needs of public sector agencies, their fiscal constraints, and the commitment to serving constituents. Project work will include professional consulting services for the public sector, including Project Management, Technology,Organization development, fee and cost recovery analysis, GIS, Process Analysis, operational review, Systems Planning and Selection, and Implementation Oversight for large-scale computer system projects. Consultants work with a mix of high-performing teams in areas focused on Finance, Administration, Parks and Recreation, Community Development, Health Care, Technology Management and Public Safety offering constant varieties of projects in a fast-paced environment with many opportunities for career growth. In this role, you will demonstrate the right mix of business analyst capabilities and effective written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with many different stakeholders within local government. This position will be located in either our Portland, Maine or Phoenix, Arizona office with a start date in July of 2024.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing consulting services to clients under the supervision of more experienced consultants.
• Leverage our commitment to individualized learning and development by learning from BerryDunn’s consulting quality-based policies and procedures and appropriate use of documentation standards as part of our consulting work.
• Follow appropriate data collection, fact-finding, and data analysis practices.
• Participate in consulting engagements of all sizes, including performing tasks such as conducting research, assisting with detailed and technical aspects of the engagement, documenting the engagement, and assisting with engagement reporting.
• Perform assigned administrative tasks.
• Develop concise summaries, reports, and presentations of complex data for client leadership.
• Participate in meetings and interviews with client stakeholders.
• Assist with project management tasks, such as tracking and reporting project progress, maintaining project document repositories, and reviewing deliverables for quality assurance.
• Provide ad hoc assessments and briefings in response to client requests.
• Continue to grow professionally through a program of self-development and formal continuing professional education programs.
• Work toward obtaining appropriate professional certifications.
• Demonstrate technical competence and human relations skills in dealing with supervised staff, supervisors, firm members, client personnel and the public

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree
• Relevant experience in project management, project coordination, and/or research
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Demonstrated experience in relationship building
• Willingness to travel frequently (non-essential travel has been temporarily suspended)

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $60,000 - $70,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
