BerryDunn is Hiring a Controller Near Winslow, ME

BerryDunn has partnered with our client ALCOM, Inc. to find a strong financial professional who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the company's manufacturing operations. Reporting to the CFO and managing a team, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the 6 manufacturing plants, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, financial reporting and compliance. ALCOM's storied growth has been attained through a commitment to providing our dealer network with the top-quality aluminum trailer products. We have expanded our production facilities from our single flagship plant in Winslow, Maine - to now running 6 plants across the country. Manufacturing 160 standard trailer models, we're able to customize a lineup of open and enclosed units that addresses the dealer's exact needs based on region, budget, and localized competition. Chances are that if you own a trailer, it was made by ALCOM! This position is a hybrid role, some days in the office and others working from home.

You Will:

· Develop and maintain annual operating budgets .

· Prepare financial forecasts, variance analysis, and maintain weekly and monthly performance metrics to support decision-making.

· Assist in the implementation of a new cost accounting system to accurately track manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead.

· Provide insights into product profitability and pricing strategies.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

· Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support financial audits and reviews.

· Direct inventory valuation and reconciliation processes.

· Assist procurement to monitor inventory levels, aging, and obsolescence, and provide recommendations for inventory optimization. Work with the inventory analyst.

· Conduct financial analysis and scenario modeling to assess the financial impact of business decisions.

· Provide financial insights and analyses on the P&L to support strategic planning and business growth.

· Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize financial processes and controls.

· Manage, mentor and develop a finance and accounting team.

You Bring:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification ideal.

· Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and inventory management.

· Proficiency in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

· Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

· Proven ability to initiate process improvements and implement best practices.

· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Pay: $145,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
