Berry Inc is Hiring an Accountant 2- Production Revenue Regulatory Near Bakersfield, CA

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs allocation of production and sales volumes and process associated revenue.
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits monthly regulatory agency reports (EIA, State, Federal, and UTE Tribe) within designated deadlines.
  • Contributes to various aspects of the month-end closing process.
  • Manages changes to ERP modules based on operational requirements.
  • Provide support and expertise to the operations team in relation to production allocations.
  • Conducts thorough reconciliation of General Ledger accounts.
  • Executes controls as specified in the risk control matrix.
  • Collaborates in internal and external audit processes.
  • Complies with all the Company's Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations. Escalates as necessary.
  • Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards, and job performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3 years of previous accounting experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry

  • Knowledge of oil and gas accounting.

  • Proficient in using accounting software or ERP systems for production and revenue accounting.

Required:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and concepts.
  • Advanced knowledge of production and revenue accounting principles and concepts.
  • Advanced analytical skills for problem-solving within a moderate scope and complexity.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to production and revenue reporting.
  • Proficient in conducting financial analysis and interpreting financial data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of internal control processes and procedures to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

Desired:

  • Ability to adapt to changes in assignments and responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of information system functionality related to areas of responsibility.
  • Experience using software such as P2-Oracle, Oildex, EnergyLink, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to interpret complex oil and gas contracts to ensure accurate production volumetric calculations.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools to effectively present financial information.
  • Knowledge of production operations and the factors influencing production volumes.
  • Basic knowledge of revenue forecasting methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives, such as implementing automation or streamlining workflows.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office work environment.
  • Routine work involves common office activities during a typical 9-hour day such as standing, sitting, walking, typing, and twisting as necessary.
  • May be required to occasionally lift to 25 pounds.
  • Must follow all company safety policies, including when visiting field locations.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position in California is between $70,720-$97,240 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that the annual salary information is a general guideline, and that annual salary will vary depending on your location and that Berry Corporation (“Berry”) will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope of responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considers when extending an offer. This position is eligible for short-term cash incentive bonus and long-term incentive awarded in restricted share units, excellent benefits including full health benefits, 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement, 9/80 flex schedules, and generous paid time off.
