3.0 Responsibilities:
3.1 Support technical and administrative functions for the Quality Assurance Department.
3.2 Maintain inspection planning; directing use of inspection devices, software, and inspection equipment.
3.3 Use quality related software and hardware to validate product quality through both direct verification and sampling techniques.
3.4 Verification of Quality Windows-SPC system with high level of proficiency.
3.5 Verification of shop floor documents.
3.6 In absence of QA Manager or QA Coordinator review First Piece Inspections for conditions, which would lead to poor or inconsistent quality.
3.7 Have working knowledge of specifications, and clear understanding of the Traveler.
4.0 Qualifications:
4.1 Skills
4.1.1 Prefer experience in the quality discipline, in a decision-making or technical role preferred.
4.1.2 Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
4.1.3 One-year SPC exposure, either through direct implementation, or through formal training.
4.1.4 Motivation to learn new techniques, and modern quality theory.
4.1.5 Must be able to write concise reports, and communicate effectively to co-workers, and management.
4.1.6 Must be able to use tape measure to read and record measurements.
4.2 Education and/or Equivalent Experience
4.2.1 Preferred high school graduate or formal training, or offset with additional experience in the quality discipline or plastics industry.
4.2.2 Good verbal and written communication skills.
4.2.3 Knowledgeable in GMP, Food Safety Systems, SQF, ISO and the plastic packaging industry preferred.
4.3 Physical Requirements/Work Environment
4.3.1 Must be able to work twelve (12) hours per day with two (2) 15-minute breaks and one (1) 30-minute lunch. Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
4.3.2 QA Lab environment; temperature range 65-85 degrees, depending on season. The production area does not have climate control, area will be hot during summer months. The average temperature during winter is 50 degrees.
4.3.3 Noise level is usually 87dB. On production floor it is 90dB.
4.3.4 Minimal solvent and ink fumes, normal level of dust and odor associated with office at a plant site. There are fumes on the production floor: cleaning solvents, and oils when heated
4.3.5 Must be able to wear PPE, such as hairnet, beard net (if applicable), rubber sole shoes, earplugs and safety glasses. No jewelry allowed on plant floor. .
4.3.6 Will lift 10-40 lbs occasionally during day.
