Job Description Plant Manager - Des Moines, IAFull Time, ExemptREPORTS TO:

Territory Operations ManagerPRIMARY OBJECTIVE:The Plant Manager will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes and will oversee all daily operations of the plant including Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resource management, Production operations, and Engineering, Maintenance, Warehousing and Supply Chain functions.

They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity on behalf of ADM Animal Nutrition.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:Lead a plant culture focused on human and food safety; prioritizing safety and quality over outputCollaborate with health/safety managers to develop, implement and sustain safety policies for site operationsCommit to and develop an engaged safety culture for all colleaguesPlanning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectationsIncreasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standardsResponsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shippingAllocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal resultsImplement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focusMonitor operations and trigger corrective actionsShare a trusting relationship with all colleagues and recruit, manage and develop operations staffCollect and analyze data to find opportunities for improvementDevelop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assetsActive, hands-on involvement and daily presence within the facility

Support all colleagues, managers and supervisors, to ensure job and safety training programs are being completedEnsure that the facility is compliant with the law, regulatory requirements, and Company programs to support our Quality Assurance and Food Safety plansRespond to and follow up on Customer complaints, while working alongside Commercial leadership to resolve issuesPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of supervisory experience with a proven ability to evaluate and reach reasonable conclusionsDemonstrated leadership and strong problem solving skillsSuperior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities, work independently and objectively, and success interacting with individuals and groupsHistory of support of cross functional teams to best meet the needs of the Company, region and plant.Concern for product and process Quality and Support of Food Safety plansDemonstrated ability to present material with energy and enthusiasm to motivate and influence peopleComputer skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and OutlookHistory of working safely and a reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement effortsRelated Industry KnowledgeExcited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed?
