Overview

As the Maintenance Supervisor you will oversee and direct the daily activities of our tenured Maintenance team. This position is very hands on, so we are looking for a person that can balance many things in the department such as, training new employees, completing performance evaluations, providing technical direction for day to day activities, all while maintaining a working knowledge of all plant utilities & systems. You will be an asset to the team by having an enthusiastic spirit.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Include the following:

• Follow and support all Company Safety, GMP, HACCP policies
• Follow and support all Company ISO and QMS policies. Authorized approver of Department Controlled Documents.
• Assists with employee performance reviews and corrective actions
• Maintains good housekeeping in the shop and on the plant floor
• Trains new employees and performs weekly evaluations
• Provides technical direction for day-to-day activities while prioritizing downtime events.
• Works with production and maintenance to improve systems and equipment
• Responsible for assisting with PSSR/MOC/RA (pre-service startup routine/method of change/risk assessment) and all portions of 5S in the maintenance department.
• Responsible for auditing LOTO of employees and training.
• Snow removal planning as deemed necessary by Maintenance Manager. Must be trained and competent in operating Company Truck

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

Education: Associates degree in electrical/mechanical.

Experience: In addition to the educational requirements incumbents must have 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance field. Preference for journeyman’s electrical license.Preference for HVAC certifications.

Other Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of and skill in:

• Electrical systems including PLC’s/VFD’s
• Domestic water systems including chillers
• Fire protection
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems including industrial sized air compressors.
• Motors and drives, both DC & AC
• air exhaust and supply systems
• Resin handling systems. Preferred knowledge with Maguire mixers
• Ability to communicate serious or potential down time issues to managers
• Ability to supervise and direct the daily activities of the Maintenance Department.
• Ability to make practical decisions without appreciable direction or advance preparation
• Ability to perform payroll/vacation functions for Department.
