BERRY FAMILY SERVICES is a small business that contracts caregivers to provide services for people with disabilities. Caregivers are considered contractors (1099) not employees. We are a Medicaid waiver program for individuals with IDD/Special Needs.
About the individual needing a caregiver
I am searching for a caregiver who is able to work with one of my clients in the Lewisville, Tx area. The caregiver must be is available to work a total of 21.5 hours a week and have a reliable form of transportation . The shift can be flexible based on the needs of the family but would be during Mon-Friday a few hours a day. The Caregiver would be caring for a disable 29 year old adult male in the family home. The caregiver would be providing companionship, supervision, and helping the individual with independent living skills. This individual is high functioning with a history of eplilepsy and mild intellectual disability. This individual has mood swings sometimes and needs someone to verbally redirect him. He can be sensitive sometimes and occasionally can be physically agressive. Due to his behaviors the caregiver needs to be able to deescalte him verbally. The family is looking for someone with creative ideas for community outing with the individual. Examples of activities: Sports, working out, bowling, ect. The caregiver will provide services in the home and in the community.
Requirements:
- All applicant will need to pass a criminal background check and need to have the ability to work legally in this Country and provide documentation to support that.
-Must be able to communicate with the individual, family, and agency regarding updates
-The job position is called “CFC PAS/HAB attendant/caregiver” . The hourly pay is $15 an hour. Potential caregiver will have to complete a “contractor” application with our agency. The application will consist of a background check. Applicant will need to pass this to provide services. Once application is completed; applicant will be considered a “contractor” and will start providing services with our agency.
