Job Responsibilities

  • Prior experience in grant writing in a tribal environment desirable.
  • Manage all aspects of a portfolio of grant, contract, sub-award, including pre-award, submission, and post-award compliance and reporting to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and contractual terms and conditions for assigned contracts.
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
  • Review, analyze, and develop new initiatives for Tribal grants and development.
  • Continually research grant opportunities to identify feasible prospects for the tribe.
  • Match available grants opportunities with Tribal needs.
  • Strategize and write grant proposals including project budgets.
  • Monitor grant proposals and prepare follow-up reports as needed.
  • Oversee the job of invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of grant process.
  • · Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities.
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs.
  • May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
  • Financial reporting of all grants

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; OR a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and private grants to appropriately manage the Tribe’s requirements. Ability to manage oversight of the grants from beginning through audit and review.
  • Analytical skills; development and completion of all budgetary control, monitoring, reporting, and auditing within the awarded grants and budget.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong adherence to policies and procedures; maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and or move fifteen (15) pounds.

Special Requirements:

  • Possession of an appropriate valid California Driver’s License
  • Preference will be given to qualified Native American Indians under the Federal Indian Preference Act (43 CFR, 17.3(d)). Applicants claiming Indian preference must submit verification of Indian Heritage, Certified by the Tribe of affiliation, or other acceptable documentation.
  • Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug and background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
