Berrien County Sheriff's Office-NASHVILLE GEORGIA is Hiring a Detention Officer Near Nashville, GA

The Sheriff’s Office serves a wonderful community of over 20,000 people across 500 square miles of beautiful geography. We are a full-service law enforcement agency operating out of a Law Enforcement Justice Center and Adult Detention Center. The 50 plus brave men and women of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office work diligently to provide the safest environment for the community for which we serve.

```Duties```
- Maintain security and control within a correctional facility
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections to ensure the safety of inmates and staff
- Monitor inmate behavior and respond to any disturbances or emergencies
- Enforce facility rules and regulations, including inmate discipline and searches
- Escort inmates to and from various locations within the facility
- Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband
- Prepare written reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and disciplinary actions
- Assist in the transportation of inmates to court appearances or medical appointments

```Experience```
- Previous experience in a correctional or law enforcement setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of correctional procedures, policies, and regulations is a plus
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and other security equipment is beneficial

Skills:
- Strong report writing skills to accurately document incidents and maintain records
- Ability to handle conflicts and maintain control in high-stress situations
- Knowledge of law enforcement principles and practices
- Ability to operate CCTV systems and other security equipment effectively
