Bernie’s restaurant in East Grand Forks, MN, is seeking an energetic, experienced, creative, and hard working individual to oversee events, marketing, promotions. This is a part-time flexible position that would start immediately. Bernie’s is the flagship restaurant of James Beard and Emmy-nominated Food Network host and New York Times bestselling cookbook author Molly Yeh. Since opening in October 2022, it has gained a large loyal following and attracted visitors from all over the country and Canada. It was one of Bon Appetit’s most anticipated restaurant openings, and is named Top Rated Food in North Dakota by Open Table. Bernie’s features regional Midwest cuisine, a full bakery and market, and local, seasonal ingredients on an all-day menu that showcases nostalgic elevated comfort food.

The primary responsibilities for this position include:

-Overseeing the production of in-house Bernie’s events from ideation to planning to promotion to setup. In-house events may include book signings, pop-ups, concerts, story time, singalongs, holidays, parties, ticketed dinners, and more.

-Correspond with customers to plan private events such as birthday parties, wedding and baby showers, work meetings, concerts, private meals, and more.

-Create and execute a marketing plan to promote Bernie’s specials, promotions, menus, market items, and events.

-Coordinate effective and fun ongoing promotions, like patty melt night, bakery features, and more.

-Work within budgets and analyze effectiveness of promotions.

Requirements include:

-Basic graphic design abilities

-Excellent interpersonal skills

-Excellent planning skills

-Excellent written communication skills

-High standards for aesthetics, presentation, and decor

-2 years marketing and/or event planning experience

-Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Not required but a plus:

-Food industry experience

-Social media experience

-Phone photography skills
