Overview

Project Manager I Responsibilities

The Project Manager I assists with the entire life cycle of an Engineering Division project from inception to closure. Also assists to ensure that the project is delivered efficiently and effectively in accordance with the budget, schedule, and while exceeding the client’s expectations.

Project Manager I Responsibilities

  • Assists with the management of the full engineering project lifecycle, from initial project planning phases through the completion of construction.
  • Participates in meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and other design personnel to establish project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Coordinates project resources and tracks project progress against established timelines and schedules, under the direct supervision of a PM II or III.
  • Assist the PM team to ensure the work is completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Assist with the selection, negotiation, and coordination of the work of vendors, contractors, or sub-contractors.
  • Assists with resource management and scheduling tasks in support of assigned projects.
  • Tracks project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators and prepares and delivers reports to management, under the direct supervision of a PM II or III.
  • Working knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.

This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Director of Project Management.

Qualifications

Project Manager I Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
  • 5-7 years of related industry experience working in integrated project teams in one of the following sectors: Engineering, Construction, Facilities Management, or Energy.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management.
  • Experience in an engineering design discipline, construction sector, facilities management, and/or energy sector.

Travel Requirements

  • Depending on project need and location, estimated to be around 25-50% of regular work schedule.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Long periods of sitting or standing at a desk in front of a computer in the office environment. The office environment is usually quiet.
  • Ability to walk, climb and crawl on a project site.
  • Exposed to inclement weather.

Pay Range

USD $83,000.00 - USD $112,000.00 /Yr.
