Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority is Hiring a Front End Navigator Near Pittsfield, MA

Bilingual Strongly Preferred
Position Type: Part Time – 21 hours per week - schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 4pm (all hours are in-person)

  • Personnel will act in a professional manner while relating to BCRHA staff, clients and business contacts seeking to resolve differences or complaints through appropriate agency procedures.
  • All personnel are responsible for adherence to BCRHA personnel policies, including the prevention of conflict of interest, misuse of funds, or abuse or trust and are responsible for reporting known misconduct to an Executive Officer.
  • All personnel shall respect the legal and moral rights and privacy of confidential information due all clients and are responsible for upholding BCRHA’s affirmative action policies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for initial contact with households presenting for services either via the telephone, e-mail, mail or in-person and perform an initial needs based assessment on said households.
  • Triaging client requests for services.
  • Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office.
  • Answers phone calls, schedules meetings and supports visitors.
  • Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.
  • Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail.
  • Supports team by performing tasks related to organization and exhibits strong communication.
  • Data Entry.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Receive deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend meetings as needed.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred in business administration and/or social services.
  • 2-3 years of reception, clerical, secretarial, or office experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable with routinely shifting demands.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of general office equipment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent phone and video-conferencing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic diversity and the needs of individuals with low incomes.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 21 per week
