Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and professional Medical Receptionist to join our practice. As our Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, checking in patients, insurance verification, scheduling appointments, and assisting with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years experience in a medical office setting, strong understanding of medical insurances, excellent organizational and computer skills.
Duties:
- Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain accurate patient records, including insurance details
- Assist with medical record management, including filing and scanning
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers as needed
Skills:
- Proficient in EMR (Epic) medical practice management software
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation procedures
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with medical scheduling systems and phone systems
- Experience working with medical insurances
