Summary:

BRG seeks a full-time, experienced Application Analyst. This position will be a resident expert for all applications used by BRG’s Corporate departments (Accounting, Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing). The Corporate Application Analyst will report directly to the Director of IT & Enterprise Architect. The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork and supporting firm and department goals in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Emeryville CA, Dallas TX, Chicago IL (potentially full remote)

Responsibilities

• Understand business and technical processes and problems by working with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Gain and maintain relationships with our corporate staff, and strong knowledge of key corporate functions.
• Troubleshoot, support, and remediate applications issues.
• Work with vendors, contractors, other elements of IT, and business units to implement solutions.
• Evaluate and propose potential technical solutions and options to solve problems or improve functions.
• Plan and execute application installations, upgrades, adjustments.
• Maintain knowledgebase of existing software and data environments, and standard operating procedures.
• Understand cost structures, licensing models and contracts related to our corporate applications.
• IT change management.
• Technical writing and technical documentation.
• General system maintenance and downtime for relevant data systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, with 2 years relevant business experience.
• Demonstrated domain expertise in supporting large software systems and the needs of a large customer base.
• Strong organizational and communications skills.

Skills

• Exceptional information gathering and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to complex situations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to present detailed or complicated information in an understandable way to non-technologists.
• Experience installing, upgrading, configuring, maintaining, and supporting software systems.
• Experience supporting large financial system, billing system, or HRIS system preferred.
• Experience with deep technical troubleshooting.
• Experience working with datasets in a variety of storage formats (SQL, JSON, XML, TXT, CSV).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, SharePoint/Teams, Powershell.
• Quick and able learner; can adjust to shifting priorities, projects, and roles.
• Must be highly organized and able to handle a variety of duties, frequently with limited timeframes.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.
