Technology Integration Specialist

HOME SCHOOL: Eagle School Intermediate (Will serve other county schools based on need)
POSITION: Technology Integration Specialist (TIS)
RESPONSIBILITY: To assist K-5 teachers with enhancing learning through improved integration & support of technology. To enrich and support teaching and learning while strengthening the technology skills of students, teachers, staff, and administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • WV Teacher Certification in any field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Three years teaching experience
  • The ability to build professional coaching relationships, solve problems, plan collaboratively and provide feedback effectively
  • Demonstrated skills in working with adult learners
  • Experience teaching key content area curriculum
  • Knowledge of Berkeley County Schools’ LMS, and how it can be best used in classrooms to support teaching and learning
  • Ability to research and keeping abreast of ways to meaningfully integrate technology into the curriculum
  • Ability to use devices in the areas of teamwork, communication, creation, personalization of learning, critical thinking, and real-world engagement.
EMPLOYMENT TERM: 210 days
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
  • Identify technology integration competencies among instructional staff in collaboration with administrators and deliver appropriate coaching, training and resources to support professional growth of adult learners and students.
  • Provide school and district-based high quality, standards-based, professional development, work with certified and classified staff (in groups and individually) to refine their knowledge and skills, before/after and during the school day.
  • Create and/or supply learning resources for teachers, staff, and students. These may include websites, tutorials, how-to guides, interactive programs and databases that support teachers in integrating technology. Ideally, teachers will be guided and encouraged to develop and share their own resources while the TIS will support these efforts by providing additional support as needed.
  • Become familiar with and utilize learning resources currently available including, but not limited to, Schoology, Webtop Admin Tools, Office365, Google Admin Tools, 1to1Plus, Apple School Manager, and 1:1 devices.
  • Meet and collaborate with academic coaches and other academic administrators on curriculum development and opportunities for technology integration.
  • Coach teachers in and model design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences using a variety of research-based, learner-centered instructional strategies, resources, district standard software products, and assessment tools.
  • Assist in identifying, planning, and facilitating workshops, professional growth credit and other in-service programs that contribute to the training and development of staff.
  • Coordinate and participate in the Instructional Technology Committee meetings and activities.
  • Effectively communicate with the Department of Instruction and the Department of Information Technology.
  • Identify trends in software, curriculum, teaching strategies, and other educational areas.
  • Participate in Apple PL through Apple Academy or other Apple provided professional learning or other applicable certifications, courses or trainings
  • Other duties as assigned.

The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and other staff members.
This position is grant funded and is not guaranteed beyond the 24-25SY.
