Berger Communities is Hiring a Finance Intern (Asset Management & Acquisitions) Near Wayne, PA

Finance Intern (Asset Management & Acquisitions)

18-$20/hour

Location: Wayne, PA

Type: Full Time, In office. (Flexible on hours per week, maximum is 40.) Summer time only.

Role & Responsibilities

As the Finance Intern, your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform market surveys and present summarized findings for each property within the portfolio.
  • Analyze offering memorandums of active acquisitions, extracting and summarizing critical information.
  • Assist the acquisitions team in the underwriting process by conducting financial analysis and market research.
  • Support in the analysis and interpretation of intricate financial statements, including income, trial balance, loan, tax, and organizational documents.
  • Prepare and compile monthly reporting materials for investors.
  • Conduct site visits and generate detailed reports using specified formats.
  • Consolidate data from inactive acquisitions to establish a comprehensive database and develop a dashboard for easy access.
  • Input recent acquisitions data into the Entrata database and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Foster relationships with operations, asset management teams, and internal support personnel to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancement and contribute to their implementation.
  • Undertake additional tasks as delegated.

About You

You might be a great fit for this Finance Intern role if you have:

  • Current enrollment or recent graduate of a relevant degree program (Real Estate, Finance, Business Analytics, & Property Management). Upper classmen (Junior or above) required.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel spreadsheets – specifically formulas, functions, and pivot tables
  • Excellent analytical and data management skills
  • Strong financial acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of real estate investment and financing processes including, but not limited to, market analysis, financial analysis, property valuation and capital markets
  • Comfortable in a fast paced and complex environment with the ability to juggle many responsibilities at the same time
