BEPC Inc. is Hiring a Delivery Driver Near Lafayette, LA
W2 contract: Approximately 3 months with the possibility of extensions based on business needs & performance
Pay rate: $18-20
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance
Shift: 5am-5pm Tues-Fri
Responsibilities
- inspecting the overall condition of the vehicle, operating and cleaning it in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
- sorting merchandise as per the invoice for delivery and ensuring the safe and courteous operation of the delivery vehicle at all times.
- Daily tasks include checking in money and returned goods with the Driver Check-in & Accounting Cashier
- completing all required paperwork, including the Department of Transportation logbook and driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR).
- adherence to company uniform standards and all safety regulations.
- planning trip logistics, obtaining necessary documents for goods transportation, loading and unloading cargo, and ensuring the cargo is secured properly in compliance with safety requirements.
- Any incidents should be promptly reported to the dispatcher. Adherence to all traffic laws is mandatory.
- maintaining the vehicle, product, and equipment in a clean and functional state.
- Other related duties may be assigned as needed.
- At least 1 year of experience and a Class B Commercial Driver's License are required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are highly desirable.
- The ability to build strong working relationships, excellent customer service skills, and knowledge of applicable state driving rules and regulations are also preferred.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation technology, knowledge of the delivery area and alternate routes, and experience with route delivery/driving are beneficial.
- The role involves the possibility of considerable time sitting, walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, stooping, and lifting.
- Additional hours may be required during peak business periods such as October, November, and December.
- May be required to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull up to 56lbs is necessary.
- Foot protection is required for this position, with closed-toe shoes or preferably, steel-toe boots being mandatory.
