Job Description:
The Audio Content Production Coordinator (ACPC) is a mostly administrative position for both domestic and global pre-production and post-production, with light audio-handling responsibilities for post-production. The successful ACPC candidate will handle traffic management regarding the sending/ingestion of various types of audio, project-related files, and verification/queuing of final retail-ready audio for processing. The ACPC will take care of all production reporting.
The ACPC will handle traffic management and scheduling for all Remote Kits/projects. They will monitor inbound kit requests via shared quip documents and e-mail communication. They will translate requests into pending assignments for the team to ship out. The ACPC will work with teams to manage timelines for shipping kits, manage setup session scheduling with both talent and engineers, and maintain a shared calendar with a partner studio to ensure all project dates are accounted for. They will summarize all details for each project to make sure all related teams have the information they need to accomplish both the successful remote record kit setup and recording. The ACPC will also monitor and maintain a shared tracker with a cleaning company and assist with the safe return of remote recording kits. Timely, clear, detailed, consistent communication during the evolution of each project is required.
Audio education and experience are a plus, preferably with spoken word but music is certainly acceptable. It is also imperative that the ACPC has a strong command of the English language and its grammatical construct beyond that of common usage. This combination of skills is most often found in those who have had experience in communications, have a theater background, studied literature, or read it often. Strong knowledge of foreign languages and cultures is a big plus. Audio-related tasks include recording corrections (called pickups) to projects in production by engineering short studio sessions, and quality control by listening through finished audio as needed, often while following a script.
Specific Responsibilities:
Traffic management:
  • Sending/ingestion of assets for ongoing domestic/global productions.
  • Verification/queuing of final retail-ready audio for processing.
  • Monitoring/managing remote record kit requests and projects through to completion.
Correspondence:
  • Providing feedback, often by email, as needed to solicit the required materials for ingestion.
  • Corresponding consistently and on a timely basis with all parties during the evolution of a remote project and ensuring communication is clearly organized/detailed.
Scheduling:
  • Scheduling kit shipments and returns, scheduling setup/record sessions with talent and engineers.
  • Multitasking with competing deadlines.
  • Coordinate 2nd QC process, managing inbound/outbound flow of domestic/global projects against release schedule.
  • QC (quality control) checking of fully produced domestic/global audio content.
  • Attend regular planning meetings and scrums with internal teams.
Production Reporting:
  • Provide updates to all stakeholders as requested, via email, speaking, and reporting.
  • Assist with post-production of audiobooks and other productions as needed.
Minimum Required Skills:
  • 1-2 years' experience coordinating production in an audiobook, music, or studio environment.
  • 1-2 years' experience in professional, commercial audiobook, music, or studio environment.
  • Excellent listening skills for audio.
  • Strong business correspondence skills, especially with email.
  • Demonstrated strong judgment assessing audio quality and content.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • 1-2 years' experience in audio post-production (editing).
  • 1-2 years' experience in audio production (recording, mixing).
  • Strong knowledge of at least one foreign language.
Personal Characteristics:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Solution-oriented, positive attitude.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously.
  • Creative problem-solver
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-motivated performer.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Articulate
  • Effective judgment in making critical, time-sensitive decisions.
