Job Summary

The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) provides recovery-oriented substance use disorder treatment, medication assisted treatment and case management. Provides an array of services to a mixed caseload of individuals with substance use disorders. Services are offered in an individual and group settings utilizing evidence-based clinical practice and skills in compliance with program standards. Services are provided under the oversight of the program manager.

  • Annual salary range of:
    • $57,790 - $77,980
    • This position guarantees two salary raises within your first year. Increases are given at the end of the 6 month probationary period and at the 1 year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
    • For most employees who take advantage of health benefits the salary only makes up 60% of their total compensation. The County invests in you and your family!

Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or closely related field; AND
  • 1 year of work experience in mental health, drug court, counseling or closely related field ; AND
  • Must be registered as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) with the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO);
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.
Special Requirements:
  • Hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Has experience working with individuals that have co-occurring disorders of substance use and severe mental illness.
  • Has experience working with Medications for Opiate Use Disorders (MOUD) Program
  • Has experience working in collaboration with community providers
  • Knowledge based on someone's perspective, personal identities, and history beyond their professional or educational experience.
  • Comfortable working out in the community and providing crisis intervention/resolution and case management.
