Benson Hospital serves the San Pedro Valley Hospital District in Southern Arizona, an area population of about 5,000, with a draw area of 10,000.

- Must be a graduate of an approved Physical Therapist Assistant program as certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Must have passed the National Physical Therapy Exam for PTAs.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure under the statues of the state in which the assistant will be practicing if the state so requires.
- CPR certification as per Benson Hospital Policy
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification or ability to become certified
