Position Title: Dishwasher

Department: Country Club

Reports To: Chef and Banquet and Events Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Dishwasher ensures that the kitchen stays clean and organized. They are responsible for removing soiled plates and flatware from tables, washing them thoroughly, and resetting tables in preparation for the next party. They may also restock items, unload delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties, as needed. Perform other duties as requested by the Chef and/or Food and Beverage Manager with the day-to-day operations of the banquet facility.

• Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.
• Properly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
• Preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
• Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots and pans, mixers, etc.
• Unloading and storing deliveries.
• Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
• Taking out the trash and cleaning trash receptacles with water or steam.
• May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
• Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
• Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
• Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimal work experience.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.
• Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
• Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
• Willingness to comply with all food safety procedures.
• Detail-oriented and thorough.
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
• Cooperate in performing other duties deemed reasonable and necessary by the management. Provide service in any and every way. Go the extra mile to provide the standard of service our guests expect.
• Works weekends, holidays and evenings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must possess manual dexterity sufficient to wash and dry kitchenware and tablewear and to safely use kitchen equipment. This position will require long periods of walking or standing. Ability to keep kitchen clean and tidy. Reliability, professionalism and a keen sense of cleanliness and organizational skills. Must frequently immerse hands in water. Vision sufficient to read printed materials and instructions. Physical agility to push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop and reach overhead. Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment, physical strength to lift from the floor up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working environment is mainly indoors. Bending, crouching, or kneeling, reaching in all directions for prolonged periods of time. Physical mobility sufficient to move about the work environment.
