BENJAMIN FRANKLIN & WESTLAKE PLUMBING Warehouse Operations Clerk Job Description

Warehouse Operations Clerks are the production force and logistical arm of Westlake and Ben Franklin Plumbing Team. Supporting and supplying our plumbing team with essential materials to complete each project.

Will be available full time Monday to Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years warehouse operation in shipping and receiving environments.
  • Highly organized.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Adaptable.
  • Ability Receive, follow, and implement directions.
  • High school graduate or (GED) preferred.
  • High level written and oral communication ability.
  • Ability to lift / move 50 lbs.
  • Safety focused.
  • Drug Free. All applicants are asked to pass a pre-employment drug screening. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, merchandise verification, PO processing, and inventory control.
  • Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined designated area.
  • Forklift, truck and trailer operation, current certification required.
  • Assembling plumbers’ orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or relocating orders to a designated holding area for work crew pickups.
  • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Presorting and put away of returned stock. Cleaning, Reassembly or Recon actions may be required to make serviceable and prepare for active stock bin returns.
  • Fabricating designated kits and items for plumbers’ field work to expedite their job completion.
  • May be asked to help with field plumbing operations from time to time.
  • Preparing copper scrap, and brass for salvage yard reclamation.
  • Ensuring warehouses are accessible and safe for plumbers and office personnel as well as visitors.
  • Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Monitor quality control of active stock.
  • Wearing the proper safety equipment. Following all OSHA guidelines for a safe work environment.

Assigned areas within the warehouse include Presort, Pulls, Pulls, Put-a-ways, Fabrications, Recon and Salvage Processing and End of Day Warehouse, each area has assigned checklists that will need to be completed daily.

These are assigned by Director of Warehouse Operations / Manager or designated supervisor every workday.

SPECIALTY WORK FUNCTION AREAS may arise including Training & QC Actions, Special Projects, Field Work Opportunities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms in all positions including overhead. · The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or crawling.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance for short periods of time. · The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move more than one hundred pounds with other team members’ assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision acuity, color differentiation, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust visual focus rapidly.
  • Function in non-conditioned warehouse environment, often hot & humid in summer and cold in winter.
