Job Description:

The ideal candidate would have experience in SaaS based software company and ASC 606. The successful candidate will display a balance of technical and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs. This role will report to the Assistant Controller and interface with the FP&A team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare revenue accounting for month end close and ensure deferred revenue waterfalls are maintained at a customer contract level
• Manage monthly revenue related tasks and analysis including monthly revenue close process (e.g., reconcile revenue, reserves, deferred revenue, etc.)
• Review journal entries to ensure appropriate revenue treatment
• Review various analysis to support the Company’s compliance with revenue recognition guidance
• Ensure business requirements are communicated and being address by Sales Operations for revenue automation initiatives
• Perform SSP analysis as needed and create processes to maintain SSP analysis on an ongoing basis
• Provide revenue accounting guidance and advice on highly visible transactions that are impactful to the organization’s overall objectives
• Evaluate and implement guidance as it relates to revenue and commissions accounting
• Ensure the application of ASC 606 to complex revenue transactions
• Keep revenue accounting policy up to date based on latest authoritative guidance including collaborating with the broader finance organization to ensure effective implementation
• Support the coordination of annual audit activities of external auditors, as needed
• Perform key control activities identified for relevant accounting areas
• Additional responsibilities, as required.

Experience and Skills:

• 5-10 years public accounting experience including software experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• CPA and Big 4 audit experience not required but is a plus
• Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP Accounting)
• Experience working in fast paced, dynamic environments
• Excellent skills with ability to review results to summarize in an executive format
• Superb communication attention to detail balanced by ability to focus on the "big picture"
• Excellent research and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience in NetSuite, and Salesforce a plus
