Benefis Health System is Hiring a Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Center (Full Time) Near Great Falls, MT

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for performing an age and diagnosis specific assessment designed to gather date relevant to the patient's/residents/client's individual needs. This includes the evaluation and assessment of cognitive, sensory, neuromuscular, physiological, psychosocial and functional status. The PT develops a plan of care, initiates, performs and manages treatment as indicated, assesses response to treatment, and assists with discharge planning. The PT utilizes exercise, soft tissue mobilization, joint manipulation, manual therapy techniques, equipment and physical and electrical modalities to improve strength, balance, coordination and range of motions, and to decrease pain to restore mobility and function. The PT provides education related to the treatment program, disease process, and prevention of further injuries to the patient/resident/client and family/caregiver and other members of the health care team. The PT delegates as necessary aspects of care to the PTA or Rehabilitation aide based on their job descriptions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for direction of the Physical Therapy Department staff, including Physical Therapy Assistants, and Restorative aides and Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant students.

Evaluates patients and recommends appropriate treatment plan, based on physical therapy standards of care

Assess patient pain , makes appropriate referrals for intervention

Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs

Manages and operates equipment safely

Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed.

Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.

Documentation meets current standards and policies.

Participates in educational staff in-services.

Coordinates delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to support staff.

Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of patient and clinical condition.

Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.

Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.

Professional Requirements:

Adheres to dress code.

Completes annual educational requirements.

Maintains regulatory requirements.

Wears identification while on duty.

Maintains confidentiality at all times.

Attends department staff meetings as required within the department.

Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work in designated time.

Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.

Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Coordinates efforts in meeting regulatory compliance, federal, state and local regulations and standards

Communicates and complies with the Benefis Health System Mission, Vision and Values as well as the focus statement of the department.

Complies with Benefis Health System Organization Policies and Procedures.

Complies with Health and Safety Standards and Guidelines.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Physical Therapy Licensure, in Montana.

Temporary licensure as governed by the State Practice Act.

Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or graduate of accredited college or university with a DPT, Master's degree, or BA degree in Physical Therapy or certification in Physical Therapy

Current BCLS certification.
