Benchmark General Contractors is Hiring a Project Manager Near Fort Myers, FL

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE: Commercial Project Management. Must have 5 or more years managing projects.

Top General Contractor in Fort Myers, Florida is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager for our expanding team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of proven successful High end custom Commercial Project Management experience.

Success as a Project Manager is contingent upon how you manage the project. Although there are many responsibilities associated with managing a project, there are five (5) major management items a Project Manager should achieve:

  • Public Relations: Maintain good Owner, Architect, Construction Manager, Subcontractor, Contractor business relations.
  • Office Management: Perform all office management duties required to meet the intent of the contract documents and policies and procedures of Benchmark General Contractors
  • Buy-Out: Purchase, in the most cost-effective manner possible, the materials required to construct the project. Subcontracts shall be issued and executed prior to a Subcontractor or Vendor starting work at the site. The prompt preparation, issuance, and execution of Subcontracts begin the cycle required for the Project Manager to perform management duties successfully. Perform buy-out in accordance with procedures.
  • Project Cost: Account for and track all project cost on a daily basis.
  • Business Administration: Conduct business and make decisions in a manner that achieves on-time completion and profit objective.

Below are only a few additional duties that are expected of a Project Manager:

  • Ability to perform multiple cost tracking functions necessary to maintain current day-to-day project cost.
  • Ability to accurately predict final project cost from the start of the project.
  • Knowledgeable of AIA Documents.
  • Ability to manage activities of project staff to ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policy and procedure.
  • Thorough working knowledge of all phases of a construction; from start to finish (i.e., site work, utilities, foundations, structure, framing, exterior envelope, roofing, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, finishes).
  • Assure the project receives approved shop drawings and specified products as required to meet on-time completion of the project. Accommodating modifications in the project schedule to assist in delayed delivery of materials is not acceptable.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project cost reporting per company procedures.
  • Ability to make good judgments, timely at a high level, and render good decisions.
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret building codes and ordinances.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, legal documents, and industry/trade magazines.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: College degree in construction or related field or equivalent experience
  • Required: Valid Driver’s License
  • Required: Three (3) or more years of experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Superintendent, or equivalent construction experience.
  • Preferred: Five (5) or more years of experience as a Project Manager of an equivalent facility construction operation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,864.00 - $127,019.00 per year
