Job Summary
We are seeking a Collection Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will monitor accounts to identify outstanding payments and communicate with consumers regarding the collection of those funds. The ideal candidate is dependable, reliable with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
  • Review accounts to collect and negotiate overdue payments
  • Research member information and historical data on accounts
  • Communicate with members regarding overdue accounts
  • Collect payments and provide full resolution
  • Maintain accurate documentation of account status and collection efforts
  • Report on collection activity and present to management
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED required, a college degree is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Collection Specialist or in a similar position
  • Understanding of collection techniques
  • Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, and computer databases
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
