The Role: Work closely with our fantastic field personnel. Bring your planning, organizing, coordinating, and supervising skills to each project, ensuring project timelines and budgets, but with the extra touch that makes a project exceptional. From preconstruction to completion, you are an integral part of the journey. As a senior field team member, play a pivotal role in shaping your team's growth. Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients and contribute to the overall success and positive atmosphere of projects and teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the Charge. Guarantee the timely and high-quality completion of projects, while always keeping safety as the most important aspect of any job.
  • Coordinate. Supervise teams of Benchmark employees and sub-contractors. Oversee all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control and a clean site.
  • Mentor. Help guide and coach the next generation of construction leaders.
  • Collaborate. Partner with our Project Managers to keep an updated schedule reflecting changes and meeting the project's cost and time requirements. Work together to identify and address issues of constructability or lack of scope, and always keep an open dialogue about any changes in the project.
  • Learn and Execute. Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections.
  • Build relationships. Exceed client expectations for each project by understanding client needs, wants, preferences, and culture. Promote positive subcontractor relations by being fair and professional with all subcontractors and vendors, always instilling this philosophy in the project team.
  • Continuous Improvement. Actively participate in all company-wide training and development initiatives.

What You Bring (Experience & Qualifications):

  • 8-10 years of experience working as a Lead Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
  • Education via a vocational school, technical college, or formal apprenticeship program.
  • Experience working on healthcare projects is a big plus!
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and site blueprints, and associated shop drawings and solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to receive, accept, and act on complex verbal or written instructions in the English language.
  • Ability to use a laptop, tablet, or other electronic device for communication and to navigate Project Management software. Procore experience is beneficial.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
